Smoky Mountains Bear Spray Rental was founded after a group of friends determined that, despite being the most visited National Park in America, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park didn’t have anywhere available to rent bear spray. Since one of the friends, Alex, operates a successful bear spray rental company in Alaska, the group quickly decided that he would be the big boss and everyone else (who actually live in the area and are local to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park) would be the worker bees. Thus, the company was founded in late 2025 to serve the need of visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding areas.

If you happen to run into any of us in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you will probably see us carrying a canister of bear spray with us. It is an effective, inexpensive, and non-lethal method to safeguard against an aggressive bear. Yes, even the locals carry bear spray.
